The uniform reflects the Academy’s goals of honouring the Lord in moderation, modesty, and neatness in dress. Studies confirm that the uniform, which puts everyone on equal footing with regards to outward appearance, helps students to learn to value each other for their unique gifts and personality rather than their attire. It also helps to create a sense of belonging and community among students, and encourages a sense of discipline and respect for the school, which are essential for a positive learning environment.
For students in JK to Grade 5, the informal version for most days includes a polo or turtle-neck shirt; for formal occasions, the girls wear a fancy blouse, and the boys wear a shirt and tie.
All students are expected to wear the entire uniform each day, with no substitutes. Our requirements include:
- Proper fit, not sized for the next year of growth!
- Regulation vests, cardigans and/or blazers only
- No items missing and no additional items worn
- Shirts tucked in
- All buttons done up
- Girls tunics or kilts at mid-knee or longer
- Girls skort is only for up to Grade 3
- Boys ties worn with oxford shirt, not polo or turtleneck
- Solid colour black or navy dress shoes (below the ankle, no platform or high heels)
- Jewelry for girls: wrist watch, studs of gold or silver only. Medical alert bracelet allowed, nail polish clear only, no acrylic nails allowed
- Jewelry for boys: wrist watches only. Medical alert bracelet allowed
- Full dress uniform for off-school property school events, weather permitting

RHCA now has an online uniform store with Marchant’s. Order online, then, during the school year, Marchant’s make a once-a-month delivery of prepaid uniforms to the school office. Forms are available at the school office which you may use to phone or fax your order to Marchant’s with credit card payment. You may also go to Marchant’s store for personal service or custom orders (recommended for new students). Call Marchant’s if you have any questions. (Tel: 416-439-1479)
The fancy blouse for your daughter (JK to Grade 3 only) may be obtained at the school office. You may wish to call ahead to the secretary, Mrs. Fung, to see if we have your daughter’s size in stock (905-770-4055). Orders for September will be ready on Orientation day and may be paid for then.
Used uniforms are by appointments only. We accept only items in good condition for resale.
All students must have the new gym uniform and gym bag.
Please do not worry if your child’s uniform is incomplete during the first few weeks; some items may have to be back-ordered, and it may take a while for everyone to be outfitted.
